Visiting & FAQ
The questions we hear most at the tasting room bar, answered honestly. If yours is not here, call (503) 362-4180 or email tastings@vesperacellars.com — a person answers both.
Visiting
Walk-ins are welcome for the Estate Flight whenever seats are open, Thursday through Sunday, 11am to 5pm. On Saturdays and holiday weekends we do fill up, so a reservation is the safe bet. The Library Tasting is seated and always requires a reservation.
We can seat groups of up to 8 at one table. For anything larger — birthdays, wine clubs on tour, work outings — email tastings@vesperacellars.com at least a week ahead and we will arrange a private seating in the barrel room.
Yes. Children are welcome, and we pour them their own flight of non-alcoholic grape juice from the estate so nobody feels left out. The lawn is a good place to run off a long car ride.
Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio and the lawn. We keep a water bowl by the tasting room door. Inside the tasting room and barrel room, only service animals, please.
You are welcome to picnic on the lawn during open hours — bring your own food, and pair it with a bottle from the tasting room. We just ask that any wine opened on the property be ours.
The last mile of Windmere Ridge Road is well-kept gravel — any car handles it fine, just take it slow. Free parking is at the top of the drive, a short flat walk from the tasting room door.
Tastings
The Estate Flight ($30) is five current-release wines, usually the 2023 Estate Chardonnay, the 2023 Estate Pinot Noir, the 2022 Hillside Block Pinot Noir and whatever Elise has just bottled. The Library Tasting ($65) is a seated flight of older vintages pulled from the cellar, often reaching back to 2016.
Plan on about 60 minutes for the Estate Flight and closer to 90 for the Library Tasting. Nobody will rush you off the patio if you want to linger over a glass afterward.
Yes — the tasting fee is waived with the purchase of two bottles per guest. Wine club members taste free on every visit.
Cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your reservation for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, call us at (503) 362-4180 and we will do our best to move you to another day.
Wine Club
Each tier — Hillside Club, Vespers Club and Cellar Society — receives wines chosen by Elise, shipped with the vintage card that tells you about the harvest. We email you 14 days before each shipment with the lineup, and your card is charged about 10 days before it ships. Full details are in our Wine Club Terms.
Yes — you can skip or pause one shipment per year with no fee. Just reply to the shipment preview email before the charge date, or tell us at the tasting room.
Absolutely. Choose tasting-room pickup and we will hold your wines for 60 days — most members make an afternoon of it, since pickup visits come with a complimentary tasting.
Shipping
Our carrier (UPS) and state law require an adult 21 or older to sign for every wine delivery — no exceptions, and drivers will check ID. Shipping to a workplace is often the easiest way to make sure someone is there to sign.
We ship to most US states and confirm eligibility by ZIP code when you order. If we cannot ship to you yet, tasting-room pickup is always an option.
From June through September we hold shipments during heat waves rather than let pinot cook in a truck. We watch the forecast along the whole route, and you can opt for ice packs if you would rather not wait.
Shipping details live on our Shipping & Returns page, and the fine print on membership is in the Wine Club Terms.
