The Fine Print
Shipping & Returns
Wine is fragile and the law around it is picky. Here is exactly how we get bottles from the hillside to your door, and what we do when something goes wrong.

An adult has to sign
Our carrier (UPS) and state law require an adult 21 or older to sign for every wine delivery, and carriers will check ID. Packages cannot be left on a porch. If nobody is home on the first attempt, UPS tries twice more before holding the box at a local access point. Many customers ship to a workplace for exactly this reason.
Where and when we ship
We ship to most US states and confirm eligibility by ZIP code when you place an order by phone, by email or through the club — if we can't ship to your state, we will tell you before you pay, not after. Orders ship every Tuesday via UPS so bottles never sit in a depot over a weekend. Orders placed by Sunday evening make that week's run.
Summer heat holds
From June through September we watch the forecast along the entire shipping route. If temperatures spike, we hold your order at the winery — cool and dark — until the weather breaks, and email you when it leaves. If you would rather not wait, ask for the ice-pack option when you order and we will send it insulated on the next Tuesday.

Breakage and corked bottles
If a bottle arrives broken, or you open one that is corked or otherwise flawed, email tastings@vesperacellars.com within 30 days with a photo of the bottle and label, and we will replace it on the next Tuesday shipment at no charge. We made the wine; we stand behind it.
Free tasting-room pickup
Any order can be picked up free at the tasting room, 2260 Windmere Ridge Road NW, Salem, Oregon 97304, Thursday through Sunday, 11am to 5pm. We will hold your wines for 60 days, and pickup visits come with a complimentary taste of whatever is open.
